Our Philosophy
Hanke & Company Wealth Management works only with individuals and families. As trusted long-term advisors, we educate and reduce complexity for our clients so that with our guidance, they make sound decisions to safeguard their financial resources through market contractions and expansions. Our approach is to get to know clients’ individual needs, desires and life goals, so that we can tailor a plan to help them achieve and maintain the financial resources they need to attain those goals and live life to its fullest.
Why Smaller Is Better
Being a small firm allows us the opportunity to spend more time with each client. We meet our clients where they are, from experienced investors to those new to financial planning, and will gladly explain complex financial concepts in terms appropriate to each individual’s level of expertise and understanding.
While we are small and independent, we have leveraged the sophisticated research and technology of our globally-recognized partners: Charles Schwab & Co., Orion Advisor Services LLC and Dimensional Fund Advisors.
Your Independent Fiduciary
Hanke & Co. Wealth Management is independent and fee-based. We’re not driven by sales goals and we don’t have shareholders to keep happy. As your fiduciary, we are ethically and legally bound to put your financial well-being first. We are beholden to no corporate interests – only to our clients. Our priority with every client is meeting their needs.
The Value of Money and Long-Term Investing
We believe that financial security and prosperity provide the means to achieve life goals. We want to help our clients enjoy their lives by helping them build and protect the wealth they need to do that; we do not believe in pursuing wealth for its own sake. We help clients examine their priorities and assumptions about money to achieve a greater understanding of its true value in their lives.
We believe in investing for the long term. We believe the capital markets provide our clients the best opportunity to grow and safeguard their resources. We believe in balanced portfolios designed to match clients’ goals and their tolerance for risk, and that a broadly diversified portfolio of mutual funds is better than trying to strike it rich with a handful of individual investments. We are not day traders nor market-timers.
Our Client-Centered Approach
Client education is central to our collaborative approach. We will not tell you what to do (unless you make it very clear that that’s what you want!). We will break down the complexity of the financial world for you and help you evaluate the pros and cons of various investment options so that together, we can make sound decisions to help you build and maintain the financial resources you need to attain your goals, whatever they may be.
Our first step is to talk with you and learn what’s important in your life – whether it’s buying a home, adopting children, putting your partner or kids through college, providing for yourselves or your parents in retirement and beyond, launching a juggling school or any other endeavor … any or all of the above and more. Then we’ll get to brass tacks about priorities, and together we will tailor a plan to help you achieve them. After setting your initial plan, we’ll work with you over the years to recalibrate your plan as your situation or priorities change and as conditions warrant, and provide the guidance and discipline to keep your plan working for you.

Professional Referrals
Beyond our core services, we will be happy to discuss with you any aspect of your life that relates to your financial health (and almost everything does), even if it’s outside of our expertise. We have an established network of professionals that we can call on or refer you to, from real estate agents and brokers to attorneys, CPAs and plumbers - we may even be able to help you find jugglers for that school you want to open! We know first-hand what it is like to be clients of our most referred professionals, because in many cases we’re their clients too. We trust our partners to match our service standards.
Thought Partners
We believe we can offer the best service and results when we’ve built enough rapport with clients that they feel free to discuss anything with us. Think of us as trusted confidants who happen to have extensive expertise in financial planning.
